Our mission at The TEGAN Group is simple. We want to do everything within our ability to make sure cases involving the youngest victims are investigated and prosecuted by the most highly trained professionals in the field. We strive to accomplish that through expert Training in all related areas, Educating professionals across disciplines at every opportunity on the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, Giving back by providing stipends and fee free trainings through fundraising, Advocating for children and agencies at all levels, and Networking by connecting professionals seeking assistance to resources and subject matter experts. Lisa Mayhew
With both her bachelor and master degrees in Child Development, Lisa Mayhew, MS, has spent her career serving children and families. From 2000 to 2024, she served as the Child Death Investigator/Trainer for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and North Carolina Child Fatality Prevention Team conducting investigations of child deaths statewide, and providing assistance in investigations to local, state and federal agencies. In addition, Lisa operated the Child Death Investigation Training Program in conjunction with the North Carolina Justice Academy teaching agencies statewide involved in the investigation of child fatalities. For the past 18 years, she has provided training to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies across the US, and is the author of Child Death Investigations: Interdisciplinary Techniques from Cradle to Court available through Carolina Academic Press.
