About the Course
This course is an abbreviated version of the two day child death investigation course designed specifically for patrol. We focus on the importance of what first responding officers see and hear, and what it may mean based on what they are presented with at a scene. Common mechanisms of death will be discussed, as well as what may or may not be visible in terms of injuries. Policy and procedure, as they relate to notifications and preservation of scenes and the body will be addressed. This class can be offered back to back to accommodate patrol shifts.
