Special Victim Investigator Certificate Program

Program Requirements

**ALL COURSES MAY BE TAKEN AND/OR HOSTED WITHOUT BEING ENROLLED IN THE SVI PROGRAM

The Special Victim Investigator Certificate Program (SVICP) is designed to recognize the achievement of training objectives within the field of Special Victim Investigations. The program is a combination of investigative, medical, and legal aspects that together form a strong foundation of essential knowledge. It is designed to enhance the professional excellence of the law enforcement officer who is actively engaged in Special Victim Investigations.

The total requirement for the completion of the program is 250 course hours as noted on certificates.  Additional requirements include:

  • Applicants must be a sworn member of a law enforcement agency

  • Any approved courses taken prior to the application date will be credited towards completion of the certificate program if taken within the previous five years of that date. 

  • The program will accept up to 32 course hours taken but not instructed or sponsored by The TEGAN Group, Inc. Outside courses will be approved at the discretion of the program coordinator.

  • Applicants will be responsible for maintaining their course documentation.
